Rave rave, techno techno! I mean, studios are fun and all, but for me the real point of all this stuff is the dancefloor. Something deep inside keeps making me want to unhook all the gear, pack it up, drag hundreds of pounds of flightcases (ok, more like 250lbs total) into a car, and into a club or party, hook it up, play the techno, then do the whole thing in reverse. There is nothing finer than seeing a dancefloor moving to beats you've made, and the feeling you get guiding the techno up and up and up into a huge whirling vortex of sound, then DROPPING it... can't be adequately explained, but the rush is the most addictive thing ever. :)
Our housemate and close friend Ross Granolaboy decided his annual blowout Halloween party might just get a little too rowdy for our new shared house, so he made arrangements to take over a bar for the evening. And a good thing he did, too, 'cause a little over 200 people showed up to party! My set went pretty well, even after major soundsystem problems and having to back the soundsystem down to a third of its original power.
My set at The Listening Room went awesomely - both rooms were packed, the beer flowed freely, and a good time was had by everyone involved. Man, one of these days I'm going to have to get some crowd pics - there was no real dancefloor to speak of, but the walkways were packed with dancers anyway. :)
I did a live set at "Ides of March", an art-party thrown by some friends of ours, and partially my birthday party. Good sound - released a recording of this set. I was billed as "DJ Mux", lol.
Heh - I used to play "Hardcore Eric", this track I stumbled into while Komrade Eric was over hanging out at EastVan when Erin and I lived there - it's hardcore, he's Eric, it was a fun track. Usually clears the floor of all but the hardcore - this pic shows the diehards. :)
Me at my live set at the UF3 Anniversary party back in 2000. Shame about the flash, the white screen behind me was actually filled with amazing visuals from Endorphin Images - amazing guys!
